this is the first song that ever came out of me. it was december of 1997 and i didn't even think i could write songs. it really just came out, all at once, melody and all, as i was walking one night in the rain in L.A.. i stopped to get my journal out of my back pack and wrote it all down as i walked. i had no idea the songs would keep coming.
i called this song 'pop song' because i was so embarassed about its fluffy, pop sound. i used the name like a disclaimer, as if to say, "yeah, i know it's cheesy". despite my initial insecurity about 'pop song', it's still a favourite of mine and many others' too.
